Special permit for sports cars.
The idea of imposing a special permit for driving sports cars arouses an interesting debate between governments and regulatory authorities. In Australia-Meridional, this idea has become reality with the introduction of a special license, scheduled to enter into force from 1 December 2024. This special permit will be required to drive high power sports cars (UHPV). This means that about 200 sports cars models, in particular powerful and fast, are influenced by this new regulation, while vehicles such as buses and motorcycles are free.
The initiative to establish this new special license was preceded by a tragedy that shook Australia-heridial. A 15 -year -old girl, Sophia Naismith, died in an accident that involved a Lamborghini Huracan. The accident occurred while traveling on a small path near a restaurant. This tragedy has prompted the authorities to think about measures to ensure the safety of drivers and pedestrians.
To obtain this “U” license in other words a special license for sports cars, sports cars drivers will have to undergo a specific online training, currently being developed. The goal of this training is to ensure that drivers include the risks associated with the driving of these extremely powerful and fast vehicles. In addition, drivers will always have to maintain activated safety devices. This includes systems such as ABS, traction control and stability control.
In case of non -compliance with these rules on public roads, drivers risk significant fines up to 5,000 Australian dollars or about 3,000 euros. The purpose of this measure is to dissuade dangerous behavior and encourage a more responsible guide of sports cars.
The question therefore arises if other countries take into consideration the adoption of rules similar to the future. In France, for example, at the moment there is no specific requirement to guide powerful sports cars. However, the possibility of introducing a special permit for this type of vehicle raises complex questions related to individual freedom, road safety and acceptance by the population.
It is important to note that the French authorities currently face a series of challenges and priorities and any new legislation concerning sports cars should be examined carefully taking into account these factors. For the moment, a special permit for sports cars is not on the agenda and sports cars drivers in France are not subject to special requirements regarding the driving license. As a result, sports cars continue to have a bright future in front of them and sports driving enthusiasts can enjoy their passion without particular restrictions.
